Kiosks can support museums especially in interactive explanation of art, archeology or other exhibits. Depending on the area of application, there are plenty of opportunities.

At the entrance
Over interactive touch screen menus the visitors can easily buy tickets. For example, there is the possibility of processing of group tickets or special tariffs (for example, via pass scanner), using cash payment, EC card or credit card, printing tickets on special paper or applying 3D barcode on standard paper (forgery-proof alternative). At ticket purchase it is possible to enable a choice of certain museum areas, which can be checked by means of scanner systems. Kiosks can automatically offer recommendations. Separate screens can display video or animation on the actual exhibition and actual prices or offers based on a low number of visitors.

Indoors
Kiosks can within the hall inform visitors about the peculiarities of the exhibited works. If only one part of the museum was exhibited, by means of kiosks the unavailable pieces can be presented multimedially and interactively. Kiosks can show didactically prepared explanations about archaeological and restoration works.
Parallel to the actual content it is possible to show hints for the future exhibitions. Visitors, who are especially interested in certain information, can register at a kiosk nearest to the object (by passing the ticket through the machine) and receive them via e-mail. At the kiosks the visitors can make real orders and pay for them at the exit (for art prints, CDs or information printouts). Visitors can send greeting cards showing the object to friends, who can also be invited to the exhibition.

Outdoors
Visitors can be asked about improvements, which can help the museum to make the experience better. For schoolchildren kiosks can conduct quizzes to check knowledge and then print a list with points for the whole class. The visitors can take the chance to read their e-mail or send electronic postcards to friends or relatives.
